Customer engagement group starts work

Ahead of RIIO-GD2, the group will scrutinise the company’s plans for investment for the future, customer service and social obligations, environment, and how the company will prepare the gas network for the future while keeping customers’ bills as low as possible. Ofgem’s RIIO2 Challenge Group will also scrutinise the development of the gas networks’ business plans, liaising with the various customer engagement groups.

Could hydrogen be used to power homes?

As the Government looks to solve the carbon emissions problem associated with heating Britain’s homes, could hydrogen provide the answer? Arup is leading a team commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) which is currently investigating the technical and safety case, downstream of the gas meter, of converting the UK’s gas network to run on hydrogen, rather than natural gas.
