New managing director for Balfour Beatty T&D
Former National Grid employee Ian Currie has been appointed managing director of Balfour Beatty’s power transmission and distribution services business.

Currie joined Balfour from National Grid in 2013 and has over 33 years’ experience working in the gas and electricity industries.
Neil Kirkby, the outgoing managing director is moving to a new role at SSE. Balfour Beatty chief executive Leo Quinn thanked Kirkby for the “leadership he has provided to Power T&D over the last four years,” and wished in him well in his new job.
Of Currie’s appointment, Quinn said “Under Ian’s leadership I’m confident that there’s no one else in this sector as well positioned to take advantage of the many opportunities that are coming into sight,” as the Balfour T&D enterprise. He described the business as “one f the brightest jewels in the Balfour Beatty Crown.
