LCNI Conference details announced
The eighth annual Low Carbon Network Innovation (LCNI) Conference will take place from 16-17 October in Telford.
9th August 2018 by Networks

The conference is hosted by the Energy Networks Association (ENA) and brings together in one place all the UK’s gas and electricity network companies, Government, regulators and the key industry spokespeople from across the country to provide attendees with an opportunity to engage and shape electricity and gas network innovation.
This year, for the first time ever, selected SMEs and start-ups will take part in a Dragon’s Den event on the afternoon of the 17 October. The winner or winners will be selected by a panel of judges, and will receive £10,000 to develop further a full proposal for a Network Innovation Allowance project.
Contributors this year include senior representatives of the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy, Ofgem, Energy Systems Catapult, Imperial College, Newcastle University and Strathclyde University.
David Smith, chief executive of Energy Networks Association, said: “The LCNI is the largest electricity and gas smart grid conference in the UK and brings together leading stakeholders from across energy innovation. We have one of the most reliable networks in the world and we are recognised globally for our pioneering work on developing a smarter grid. We are active across the UK and we make sure that communities, households and businesses benefit from our activity. This event is a must-attend conference for anyone with an interest in that.
“The networks are rising to the challenge of delivering a secure, low carbon and low cost energy system so there is a huge opportunity for consumers, for businesses and for energy innovators to take part. We look forward to warmly welcoming attendees to Telford to be part of it.”
The event is taking place at The International Centre, Telford. For further information visit http://www.lcniconference.org/
