As the Government looks to solve the carbon emissions problem associated with heating Britain’s homes, could hydrogen provide the answer? Arup is leading a team commissioned by the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) which is currently investigating the technical and safety case, downstream of the gas meter, of converting the UK’s gas network to run on hydrogen, rather than natural gas.

Consumers want a role in Britain’s energy infrastructure, ENW research shows

Commissioned to explore the British public’s understanding and interest in engaging with community and local energy, the survey of 1,413 UK consumers highlighted that only two per cent of people are actively participating in a community energy group, despite 63% admitting they would be interested, if they could save money.
