Energy & Utility Skills Group appoint Barrett

Stephen Barrett has been appointed as strategic client director at the Energy & Utility Skills Group and will also lead the National Skills Academy for Power.

Energy & Utility Skills Group appoint Barrett

As part of his remit Barrett (pictured) will also work with the Energy and Utilities Skills Partnership to raise awareness of the Workforce Renewal & Skills Strategy.

He has worked in the energy sector for over 11 years, primarily in the nuclear industry for a range of businesses including Babcock International Group, National Skills Academy for Nuclear and Thales UK.  
His last role was as the head of skills strategy (nuclear) at the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB), where he was responsible for strategy, delivery and growth of the nuclear portfolio, focusing on positioning the ECITB at the centre of the nuclear skills landscape.  
 
Commenting on his new role, he said: “The energy and utilities sector performs a vital role for both the economy and society. I am extremely pleased to have joined Energy & Utility Skills at such a key time and look forward to being part of an organisation that is committed to demonstrating thought leadership in workforce renewal and skills enhancement.”
