Steve Hurrell (chief financial officer) will act as the interim CEO with immediate effect.
Over the last six months, in preparation for his retirement, the Board have been working with Train in their search for his successor. This search will continue.
In a statement, Cadent said: “Since Chris’ appointment as Cadent’s chief executive officer (CEO) in October 2016 (formally National Grid Gas Distribution), he has navigated Cadent through a complex and challenging process of separating the business from National Grid, transitioning to a new ownership structure and has led the development of Cadent’s strategy in preparation for the next regulatory price control.
“Chris has shown a tremendous commitment to the industry over his 35 year career, which was reflected when he received an OBE in the 2014 honours list for services to the gas and electricity industry.”
